You pay by the hour for CentOS 10 running on your chosen Amazon EC2 instance. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so pricing is not tiered by plan. Instead, it scales with the compute you select. Smaller instances like nano, micro, and small carry lower hourly rates. Larger sizes such as xlarge, metal, and high-memory or GPU types carry higher rates. Instance families span general purpose, compute, memory, storage, GPU, and machine learning workloads. You pick the size that fits your needs and pay only for hours used.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually receive when I select an hourly instance dimension?
You get the CentOS 10 operating system image pre-installed on the Amazon EC2 instance type you pick. Each dimension maps to one running instance size, which sets the CPU, memory, and any attached storage or GPU. The hourly rate covers the software licence for that running instance.
Am I charged the hourly software rate when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still pay separate AWS fees for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but those are billed by AWS, not by this listing.
Can I change instance size later, and how does that affect my hourly rate?
Yes. Each instance type is billed independently at its own hourly rate. If you move to a different size, billing switches to that new type's rate for the hours it runs. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates; smaller sizes carry lower ones. You pay only for hours each instance runs.
