Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one running Amazon EC2 instance of the type you launch, billed per hour. The rate covers the CentOS 10 image and the bundled GigaOps Security Agent on that instance. If you run several instances, each one meters its own hours separately.
The software rate meters running instance-hours only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software charge. AWS may still bill separately for attached storage or other resources while the instance is stopped. Those AWS infrastructure charges are not part of this software rate.
The hourly software rate is tied to the instance type you launch. Switching to a different type changes the rate to match that type's listed price. You are billed at the new rate from the hour the new instance runs. There is no upfront commitment tying you to one type.
