Overview
InfinityDB is a NoSQL DBMS for flexible, nestable data structures including tables, trees, sets, images, blobs, and more, with dynamically extensible metadata embedded in each data Item as 'Class' and 'Attribute' components. 12 data types sort properly and can form tuple keys, unlike simple JSON or document databases.
A simple declarative PatternQuery language far exceeds SQL's capabilities and encroaches on the capabilities of regular programming languages. Queries may be interactively created and edited graphically or via a trivial 'i-code' language, and run via a browser. A few keystrokes can define queries that gather and scatter data, do computations using a Java-like expression syntax, run nestable reducers, perform implicit loops, and do select, project, and Join, optionally with JSON parameter inputs and JSON returned results, while handling images or other blobs natively. The language is declarative, so there is no complex, risky, unmaintainable, opaque coding, and simple tasks have simple solutions. The compiler does extensive performance optimization, and advanced algorithms like fast 'zig-zag' join and intersection are used instead of slow relational 'hash join'.
REST APIs can easily and quickly be defined, tested and extended, because their queries are stored in the database itself, rather than being embedded in an application server or framework mixed with traditional code. A REST API is an industry-standard JSON- and HTTP-based protocol for 'Microservices' that is easy for client programs to call from Python and other languages.
The server supports multiple databases, each with permissions for users, roles, and selective query access according to user-defined interfaces. Security includes SSL, hashed passwords, and universally AES-encrypted administrative data, following industry standards.
An 'ItemPacket' protocol feature allows distributed access between multiple servers for backup, data consolidation, collaboration, curation, and so on. Access is made transparent to users or client programs by configuring selected databases as remotes.
Highlights
- NoSQL DBMS with 12 data types, for tables, trees, sets, images, blobs, documents.
- PatternQueries are simple, declarative, better than SQL, but encroach on programming language generality - perfect for REST API definitions. Graphical or text, no complex coding, simple tasks are simple.
- Graphical or text Web access for secure administration and work without awkward text-based configuration like XML.

64-bit (x86) Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
