AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour for a ready-to-run WebSphere Application Server Base image with RapidDeploy preinstalled. Pricing is set per AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate scales with the compute size you pick. Options span many families, from small general-purpose sizes up to memory-, compute-, and storage-focused instances with dozens of vCPUs. Larger instance types carry higher hourly rates. You are charged only while an instance runs; stopped instances incur no software fee. You can run any number of instances, each billed at its own hourly rate. The m3.large size or larger is recommended.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What am I actually paying for with each hourly instance charge?
You pay for the right to run one instance, standard support, and the licenses for both the WebSphere Application Server Base software and RapidDeploy running on it. The charge covers licensing and support for as long as the instance runs.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped, for example a standby environment?
No. You pay only for launched, running instances. When an instance sits in the stopped state, you incur no software charge. This suits test and disaster recovery setups that run only part of the time. Underlying AWS infrastructure fees may still apply separately.
How is the hourly rate for each instance type determined?
The rate is set per AWS EC2 instance type and reflects the vCPU count of the size you launch. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. The price for each type appears when you choose your instance. You pay for each hour, or part hour, an instance runs.
