Am I charged when I stop or pause the instance?
The hourly software charge meters running time only. When you fully stop the instance, the hourly software fee stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage charges for attached volumes, but those are billed by AWS, not by this image's hourly rate.
How is this billed — do I commit upfront or pay as I go?
