VMware Rapid Strategy Assessment

This rapid assessment is the initial step in Rackspace's proven engagement model, designed to help you confidently choose and execute the right migration path. Tailored for CIOs, IT Directors, and other decision-makers, this session will guide you through evaluating use cases such as data center expansion, disaster recovery for on-prem VMware, data center exit, and the first steps in modernization. With various options for running VMware workloads on AWS, this assessment helps navigate the tradeoffs and select the optimal strategy for each use case and workload type.

With licensing deadlines, hardware refreshes, and executive pressure mounting, the cost of choosing the wrong path can be high. This two-hour session gives you clarity and confidence, backed by the team that will take you all the way from plan to production, after this assessment.

Outline of Assessment

The assessment will be delivered by a Solutions Architect and cover:

• Current Environment & Outcomes: Evaluate VMware setup, and business goals
• Future Roadmap: Define vision for upcoming VMware deployments
• Implementation/Migration Strategies: Recommend the best approach for your workloads and requirements
• Compatibility: High-level overview of licensing portability (if relocate is of interest)
• MAP Funding: Assess customer eligibility
• Summary & Next Steps: Recap findings and outline actions

Upon the assessment's completion, we will provide a follow-up within three business days with a recap of the discussion and recommendations. The recommendations may range from EVS, EC2, ECS, or EKS as the core AWS compute services dependent on the conversation. This will include the discussion summary, recommendations around migration or implementation strategy, cost-saving opportunities, and next steps.
