Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing scales by the AWS EC2 instance size you choose to run the vSTREAM Performance Management Edition software. Options span the m6i, m7i, and m6in instance families in xlarge, 2xlarge, and 4xlarge sizes. Larger sizes and network-optimized (m6in) instances add more compute and networking capacity to handle heavier traffic monitoring. You select the size that fits your workload, and your hourly rate follows that choice. Software charges are separate from the underlying AWS infrastructure fees.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension bills per running instance-hour of the software on one AWS EC2 instance of that type. For example, m6i.xlarge charges for every hour that vSTREAM runs on an m6i.xlarge instance. Each running instance meters separately. Larger sizes and m6in instances add compute and networking capacity for heavier traffic monitoring.
Software charges accrue per running instance-hour. A fully stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS infrastructure costs, not the vSTREAM software license.
Pay-As-You-Go support is limited to email only, with a target acknowledgement time of two business days that is not guaranteed. It covers one open or concurrent issue per running nGeniusONE PAYG EC2 instance. Broader support requires a separate active MasterCare agreement under a different license type.

NETSCOUT vSTREAM
The NETSCOUT vSTREAM for AWS is a virtual appliance that complements existing Adaptive Session Intelligence (ASI)- based instrumentation to provide the same smart data visibility within virtualized and cloud infrastructures that is already possible in physical environments. The vSTREAM virtual appliance is ideal for monitoring service-critical traffic running within virtualized or cloud infrastructures, either locally on a host or as an aggregation point for multiple hosts.
With complete visibility across physical, virtual and cloud networks, the vSTREAM virtual appliance presents real-time views of end-to-end call trace data and network-wide KPIs, to protect the reliability and availability of networks and application services with analysis as used in combination with the nGeniusONE Service Assurance platform. It also provides threat detection and forensics analysis when leveraged with the NETSCOUT Security Analytics application. This makes the vSTREAM a uniquely cost-effective solution for both application and network performance management and packet-level visibility.
NETSCOUT optionally collects license information at time of product deployment.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances).
