The hourly software fee applies only while an instance is running. Stopped or powered-off instances do not accrue the SUSE license charge. Note that AWS may still bill for attached storage, but the operating system license meters active running time only.

Usage instructions
Use the image to start an instance of your choice in Amazon EC2. Once the instance is running connect to it using a Secure Shell (SSH) client as 'suse' and the configured SSH key. The instance is connected to the SUSE update infrastructure to receive updates. Use the transactional-update command to update the system or install additional packages.
