You can launch this AMI and start using the Moodle application from a browser.

You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The listing bundles Moodle on Windows Server 2019 as a ready-to-launch machine image, so pricing scales with the compute capacity you choose rather than with users or features. Smaller instances like t2.micro and t2.small suit light workloads. General-purpose t2.medium and t2.large add more capacity. Compute-focused c4.large, c4.xlarge, c4.2xlarge, and c4.4xlarge target processing-heavy use. Memory-focused r3.large and r3.xlarge handle memory-intensive workloads. You pick the instance that fits your needs; every option includes the same software stack.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay per hour that your chosen EC2 instance runs. Each instance type maps to a fixed set of CPU and memory resources. The hourly rate covers the software license and the pre-packaged Moodle stack. The underlying AWS compute time bills separately through your AWS account.
The hourly software fee accrues only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the software charge stops. You may still pay AWS storage fees for the attached disk, since the machine image data remains saved. Restarting resumes the hourly software charge.
There is no automatic tier upgrade. You change capacity by launching a different instance type, such as moving from t2.medium to c4.xlarge. The new hourly rate applies to the new instance. Each instance type carries its own rate; you are billed only for what you run.
