Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

Pricing centers on per-cluster enterprise licenses tied to specific Elasticsearch version families. You pick the license matching your version: FLX 7 (7.17+), FLX 8 (8.5+), or FLX 9 (9.x+). For each family you choose either an Enterprise license or a Compliance license, which adds audit and compliance capabilities. Each license covers one production cluster with unlimited nodes and includes non-production clusters plus 12x5 support. Two Encryption at Rest licenses (versions 8 and 9) are separate add-ons. A Quickstart implementation package and an Additional Usage option round out the choices.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each enterprise license covers one production cluster with unlimited nodes. You are not billed per node, so adding servers to a cluster does not change the cost. Development, staging, and test clusters are included with each license at no separate charge.
Both cover one production cluster and include access to enterprise features. The Compliance license adds audit and compliance capabilities, such as recording read and write access to data and tracking configuration changes to meet regulations. You pick the version family (FLX 7, 8, or 9) that matches your Elasticsearch version.
The Encryption at Rest (EAR) licenses are separate add-ons, offered for Elasticsearch versions 8.5+ and 9.x. They encrypt indices at the storage layer to protect data if physical media is compromised. Each EAR license covers one production cluster with unlimited nodes and bills independently from your FLX license.
