Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you pick at launch. You are billed per instance-hour for each machine running this CentOS 8 image with GigaOps Runtime Guard. Each instance is metered separately, so two running instances accrue two hourly charges.
The software rate meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue this hourly software charge. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the CentOS 8 image charge resumes only when the instance runs again.
Each rate maps to a specific EC2 instance type and size. Larger sizes and specialized families, such as GPU, high-memory, or bare-metal machines, carry higher hourly rates. Smaller shared-core sizes carry lower rates. You pick the instance at launch, and that choice sets your hourly cost.
