Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing follows the EC2 instance type you choose to run this hardened CentOS 8 image. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, from small general-purpose types like t2.nano and t3.micro up to large compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal options. Your hourly software rate scales with the instance's size and family. Larger or specialized instances carry proportionally higher rates. You control cost by selecting an instance that fits your workload, and you can change instance types as your needs shift.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the chosen type, billed per hour. The rate covers the hardened CentOS 8 software with Runtime Guard on that instance. Each instance you launch meters separately. Running ten instances of the same type accrues ten times the hourly software rate.
The hourly software rate meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software charges. You may still owe underlying AWS charges, such as storage for the attached volume. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
Your software rate follows whichever instance type is running at that time. Switching to a larger or specialized instance changes the hourly rate for the hours it runs. There is no upfront commitment, so you can move between types as workloads change and pay each type's rate per hour.
