Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for CentOS 8 with Runtime Guard, with the rate set by the EC2 instance type you choose. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, or accelerator capacity you select. Smaller shared instances bill at lower hourly rates, while larger memory, compute, storage, GPU, and bare-metal instances bill higher. You are charged only for the hours each instance runs, and you can switch instance types to match your workload needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension bundles the CentOS 8 image with Runtime Guard and the underlying EC2 instance you select. The instance code (for example m5.large) sets the CPU, memory, storage, and any accelerator capacity. You pay one hourly rate covering the software running on that instance size.
The software charge meters running hours only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. Underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's charge.
Yes. Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate based on its type. If you run two instance sizes together, both rates accrue in parallel and appear on the same invoice. Switching an instance to a different type changes the rate for that instance going forward.
