What does one hourly unit cover, and how is it counted?
Each dimension maps to one AWS EC2 instance type. You pay per instance-hour for the type you launch. One running instance of a given type accrues one hourly charge. Larger sizes within a family carry higher hourly rates, matching their added CPU, memory, storage, or GPU capacity.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or idle?
The software rate meters running instance-hours. A stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS resources such as attached storage may still bill separately through AWS. The listing charge tracks the hours your chosen instances actually run.
If I run several different instance types at once, how do the charges combine?
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate. Your total is the sum across every active instance for the hours each runs. Mixing families such as compute, memory, storage, or GPU types adds each type's rate separately on the same invoice.
