An ML-powered solution to analyze your current virtual instances configuration and lifecycle, and give per-resource optimization tips with potential cost changes.
The community version allows using data for up to 7 days of usage metrics and meta as inputs for VMs, DBs and unlimited recommendations
EPAM Syndicate RightSizer is an ML-empowered offering that reviews the existing infrastructure resources in terms of their configuration, workload, and lifecycle, and produces the recommendations to fine-tune the resources to match the workload patterns, all accompanied by expected cost savings/raise.
Hosted on AWS, the community version can provide analytics and recommendations in AWS cloud. The recommendation is a per-resource or per-resource group list of possible actions to perform of the following types:
Resize (scale up or scale down) instance - change the instance type within the current
Split - split a single instance workload into several instances, each facing a specific workload type for it
Schedule - create start/stop schedules for the instance to be cost effective without affecting its capacity
Shut down - terminate the instance due to the low to no load
The recommendations are built based on up to 90 days (7 days for community edition) of instances performance story, which increases the accuracy of the recommendations (as compared to the tools with the shorter timeframe coverage).
Syndicate RightSizer tailors its recommendations based on the customer's previous responses, ensuring it avoids suggesting changes that are likely to be seen as not useful or relevant according to the resource usage context. The recommendations are available via RESTful API, .json files, or via CLI tool. The small underlying infrastructure (one EC2 instance with minimum permissions) allows to get high value with minimum effect on the budget.
The solution API can be used for effective convenient integrations and additional visualization.
Highlights
ML-empowered engine - analyses instances' daily workload and capacity to figure out if any optimization is possible.
Multiple recommendation types - receive suggestions on up/down scaling, scheduling, splitting the workload or shutdown, accompanied by expected effect on infrastructure cost. RightSizer allows user to mark specific recommendations by resources as irrelevant, thus customizing the future output, which will take into account the user's feedback.
With RightSizer's enterprise offering, customers can use a single tool across multiple clouds for infrastructure load assessment and instances optimization.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on a fixed subscription cost and actual usage of the product. You pay the same amount each billing period for access, plus an additional amount according to how much you consume. The fixed subscription cost is prorated, so you're only charged for the number of days you've been subscribed. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run this software on. The nine dimensions map to different instance sizes across three families: compute-optimized (c7g), general-purpose (m7g), and memory-optimized (r7g). Each family offers medium, large, and xlarge sizes, so your rate scales with the compute and memory capacity you select. You choose the instance that fits your workload, and billing accrues only while the instance runs. There are no upfront commitments; charges follow actual hourly usage.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What runs on the EC2 instance I pay for, and how much infrastructure does it need?
The instance runs the RightSizer software, which reviews your cloud resources and produces sizing and lifecycle recommendations. The underlying footprint is small: it needs a couple of EC2 instances and S3 buckets with minimum, read-only permissions to your reviewed infrastructure.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly charges accrue only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, software billing pauses. You may still pay underlying AWS storage fees for the instance and its S3 data, but the hourly software rate meters running time only.
How do I pick between the c7g, m7g, and r7g instance sizes for my scan?
Choose based on the workload profile of your analysis. Compute-optimized c7g suits processing-heavy runs. General-purpose m7g balances compute and memory. Memory-optimized r7g suits large data sets. Within each family, medium, large, and xlarge scale capacity and your hourly rate accordingly.

As the solution offers 2 deployment options (AWS Serverless & Container-based one), the Overall Architecture Diagram displays the components of the Syndicate RightSizer that brings the solution to life without any specifics of the software or managed services utilized.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
Version release notes
This release updates the product base operating system from Debian 12 to Ubuntu 26.04.
The migration was introduced due to the end of standard security support for Debian 12 on the product side and is intended to ensure continued security patching, system maintainability, performance improvements, and bug fixes.
This version is provided free of charge under Apache-2.0 license and relies on community-based assistance. For deploying an enterprise-grade version with Professional Services, data analysis for up to 90 days, expanded list of supported resource types, TCO reports, tech support and rightsizing expert assistance, please check the EPAM Syndicate RightSizer Professional offering.
