Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for the Hardened Ubuntu 24.04 image, billed per running instance. Pricing has no upfront commitment and follows usage. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the instance size and family you choose. Smaller instances, such as general-purpose and burstable types, carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, storage, and accelerated instances carry higher hourly rates that scale with capacity. You select the instance that fits your workload, and the software charge applies on top of standard AWS infrastructure costs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance measured per hour. The software charge attaches to each instance you launch from the Hardened Ubuntu 24.04 image. The rate matches the instance type you select. Each separate running instance meters its own hours and appears on your bill independently.
The hourly software charge meters running time only. A stopped or paused instance does not accrue software hours. Note that underlying AWS storage fees for the attached volumes may still apply while the instance is stopped, but those are separate from this listing's per-hour software rate.
