    Overview

    The MetsiLabs Terraform Acceleration Workshop is designed to help your organization optimize your current HashiCorp Terraform Cloud/Enterprise environment based on your current and desired future states. The MetsiLabs Terraform Acceleration Workshop consists of a prescriptive framework and set of assets provided by MetsiLabs that enables customers to achieve their value based technical and business outcomes with Terraform Enterprise/Cloud. This workshop maps the use of people, processes, and technology in your cloud workflows, to optimize your self-service cloud platform. The MetsiLabs Terraform Acceleration Workshop is the initial step to creating a value-based outcomes (VBO) approach for infrastructure-as-code maturity across your entire cloud environment.

    Process

    The process for delivery of the MetsiLabs Terraform Acceleration Workshop includes but is not limited to:

    • Identify stakeholders (Examples: Application Development, Platform/Cloud Team, InfoSec, Finance, and IT Operations)

    • Evaluate Terraform maturity levels

    • Identify current and future cases for users and operators (Examples: SRE/DevOps, enterprise architecture, application development, FSO engineer, security architect, DBA)

    • Value stream mapping exercise to identify pain points and shortcomings in existing workflows and identify automation targets

    • Document current state and future state of workflows, including use cases and usage patterns

    • Analyze workflows to determine specifically how/where Terraform Cloud/Enterprise can provide the most immediate impact

    • Develop a Terraform roadmap for current and desired future states using MetsiLabs and HashiCorp best practices

    Deliverables

    The following deliverables are included in the Metsi Terraform Acceleration Workshop:

    • Terraform Environment Evaluation: Assessment of the customer environment

    • Terraform Maturity Assessment: Findings Summary, Optimization Plan, Actionable Recommendations, Prioritization Matrix

    • Terraform Operations Plan: Description of the process of operationalizing Terraform (Enterprise/Cloud) for all stakeholders

    • Terraform Adoption Plan: High-level playbook for the adoption of Terraform (Enterprise/Cloud) through the customer organization

    • Terraform Financial Impact Analysis: Presentation of financial metrics, including cumulative savings, return on investment, and total benefits

    • Terraform Training Plan (if needed): Identification of levels of Terraform (Enterprise/Cloud) expertise and recommendations for specific training topics
