This listing uses a single usage-based dimension, billed in Units through basic usage metering. You pay only for what you use, with no upfront commitment or fixed term. Charges scale with the volume of video you transcode. Costs depend on factors like output resolution and source bitrate, so heavier or higher-resolution workloads consume more Units. Since billing is metered, your total tracks your actual processing activity each period. To discuss volume discounts for larger workloads, you contact the vendor directly.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billing Unit map to when transcoding video?
A Unit reflects your metered processing activity, based on minutes of output video. Higher output resolution consumes more Units per minute. Source bitrate also raises consumption, with a step-up applied for each increment above a threshold. So a Unit tracks the work done to convert your video, not a fixed file count.
How does my cost change as I transcode higher-resolution or higher-bitrate video?
Cost rises with output resolution, scaling up from SD through HD and into 4K and beyond. Source bitrate adds a further step-up for each block above the base threshold. Frame rates above 30 fps increase certain charges too. Heavier workloads consume more Units, so your metered total grows with processing demand.
Do extra options like multiple output destinations or thumbnails add to my Unit consumption?
Yes. Sending output to additional destinations adds a per-destination charge. Repacking a container adds a per-GB charge. Per-Title encoding applies a multiplier to the base transcoding cost. These options accrue on top of standard transcoding, so enabling them increases the Units metered for a job.
