    Overview

Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is a secure managed file transfer solution that automates and encrypts file transfers with a centralized enterprise-level approach. Popular file transfer protocols and encryption standards are supported, including SFTP, FTPS, AS2, Open PGP, AES, and HTTPS.

GoAnywhere's comprehensive workflows allow enterprises to discard traditionally used manual process, custom and legacy scripts, and single-function tools. File transfers and workflows can be configured through an intuitive web interface to move and process files on cloud environments, eliminating the need for on-demand scripting.

GoAnywhere MFT offers incredible benefits for organizations:

    • An integrated scheduler that allows you to run file transfers anytime, anywhere
    • File monitors alert you when a file is placed in a file system, so you never have to manually check for new files from trading partners
    • Tasks and triggers give you flexibility to run processes automatically giving you time to work on the projects that need your attention
    • Detailed audit logs track all file transfer activity to help you meet standard compliance and business requirements, including PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and FISMA

GoAnywhere is an innovative MFT solution that reduces costs, improves file transfer quality, and helps organizations comply with data security standards and regulations. Try a 30-day trial to see if GoAnywhere MFT is the right fit for your organization's file transfer needs.

Very Flexible Project Reuse with Scheduler Overrides

    Reviewed on Jul 31, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Very flexible, easy to reuse projects with scheduler overrides,
What do you dislike about the product?
no prebuilt verification of file properties in file movements, you need to code your own verifications of file size or related values.

occasional issues when running processes aren't able to send status updates to the database leaving scheduled jobs and monitors in a running status after completion, requiring our team to develop monitoring and resets via SQL (which GA handles fairly well)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company was running dos batch jobs with a WS-FTP command line processor. GA helps with monitoring processes, speeding our development cycles, and has built-in functions that replace several home built VB and C++ programs that inspect and revise data files. I't API abilities allowed us to intigrate our paging/ticketing system to set up error notifications.

Flexible, XML-Driven Automation Across SFTP, Azure Blob, S3, and SMB

    Reviewed on Jul 31, 2026
    Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about GoAnywhere MFT is the XML backend - it makes it a lot easier to understand and build out job logic compared to a pure GUI-only tool, since you can actually see and control the task flow directly. I also like how flexible it is across protocols, being able to handle SFTP, Azure Blob, S3, and SMB transfers all within the same platform makes it easy to standardize jobs even when the vendor or destination changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about GoAnywhere is that some of the built-in functions and attributes aren't well documented or don't behave the way you'd expect - things like CurrentDateTime() not actually existing, or sizeFilter being unreliable enough that you have to work around it with FileInfo() checks instead. It leads to a lot of trial and error that shouldn't be necessary. I also find the error handling setup to be a gap - just having a notifysysadmin module in the XML doesn't mean it actually fires, you have to explicitly wire it with onError on every task, and it's easy to miss that during job builds or reviews.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GoAnywhere MFT solves the problem of having a centralized, automated way to move files between us and all our vendors and partners without relying on manual transfers or one-off scripts scattered across servers. It benefits me by giving a single platform to build, monitor, and troubleshoot jobs across SFTP, Azure Blob, S3, and SMB, so when something fails I'm not chasing it down across different systems, I can go to one place and trace it through the job history and logs. It also makes onboarding new vendors more consistent, since I can reuse validated job templates instead of building transfer logic from scratch every time.
