IBM Guardium Data Detection and Response (DDR) is a capability of the IBM Guardium data security platform, delivering real-time threat detection and response. By leveraging an AI-powered engine and advanced analytics. IBM Guardium DDR alerts on risks to your data before they lead to costly breaches.
IBM Guardium Data Detection and Response (DDR) alerts on threats to your data. It takes inputs like data activity, policy violations, asset and vulnerabilities information from IBM Guardium Data Protection, and identifies abnormal behavior and associated risks using AI and advanced analytics. A risk engine contextualizes observed events and assigns severity so that you can focus on the most critical threats.
Business Benefit:
Receive alerts on threats to your data before they lead to security breaches
View risk events prioritized by criticality, taking into account a number of contextual data points
Understand the risk with the help of generative AI-based summarization and a Q&A assistant
Data is the most essential asset for any enterprise and remains the most prized goal for bad actors. IBM Guardium Data Detection and Response helps you identify potential threats and stay ahead of them.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You buy capacity in Resource Units (RUs), sold in three fixed contract sizes: 100 RUs, 1,600 RUs, and 12,000 RUs. Pick the RU quantity that matches your monitoring needs. If you exceed your contracted RUs, the Overage dimension bills the extra usage. Storage is handled separately. Storage Pay-per-Use charges you based on the amount of data activity you store, and Storage - Overage covers storage used beyond your committed level. This lets you scale compute capacity and data retention independently as your environment grows.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one Resource Unit (RU) map to in the DDR service?
A Resource Unit measures the monitoring capacity you consume, tied to the volume of data activity DDR analyzes across your data sources. You buy RUs in fixed contract blocks of 100, 1,600, or 12,000. Higher blocks cover more monitored data activity. Match the block to your expected monitoring workload.
What happens if my monitoring activity exceeds my contracted Resource Units?
The Overage dimension bills the extra usage beyond your committed RU block. It meters the additional monitoring activity separately, so you keep running without interruption. Overage charges appear on your invoice alongside your contracted RUs. This lets your monitoring continue when activity spikes above your committed level.
How do Resource Unit charges combine with the storage charges on my bill?
Compute capacity and storage bill independently. Your RU block covers monitoring and analysis. Storage Pay-per-Use charges separately based on how much data activity you retain, and Storage - Overage covers retention beyond your committed level. RU charges drive cost for active monitoring; storage charges grow with longer retention periods. Both appear on the same invoice.
