You pay by the hour for the software running on an Amazon EC2 instance. The many dimensions here are not feature tiers. Each one maps to a specific EC2 instance type, grouped by family. General-purpose types (t and m families) suit steady or bursting workloads. Compute-optimized types (c family) handle heavier processing. Memory-focused (r family) and storage-focused (i family) types serve other needs. Within each family, larger sizes (nano, micro, small, medium, large, xlarge, 2xlarge) offer more capacity. Your hourly rate rises with the size and family you pick. The Moodle software stays the same across all options.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The rate covers the preconfigured Moodle software running on the chosen EC2 instance type. It does not include the separate AWS compute, storage, or data-transfer charges for the instance itself. Those AWS infrastructure fees are billed alongside the software rate on the same invoice.

Usage instructions
System initialization
After launch, browse to http://<Public_DNS>/ and complete the first-boot configuration, or connect by SSH using the key pair selected at launch.
Operating system access
Connect using SSH as the Linux user admin with the selected EC2 key pair. Run privileged commands with sudo; this provides full OS-level administration.
Application access
Open http://<Public_DNS>/ in a web browser. The application may redirect to HTTPS after configuration.
