You pay by the hour for a Supabase image running on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, with vendor support included. Pricing scales by the AWS EC2 instance type you choose to run it on. Each dimension maps to one instance type, billed per hour of use. Smaller instances with fewer resources cost less per hour, while larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instances cost more. You select the instance that fits your workload, and charges accrue only for the hours you run it. There is no upfront commitment.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what runs on that instance?
Each hourly unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you pick. The instance runs the Supabase image on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS. Supabase includes a Postgres database, authentication, file storage, real-time sync, edge functions, and REST APIs. Vendor support is included. You are billed for each hour that instance runs.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue per hour while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, hourly software charges stop. You are not billed for hours the instance is not running. Underlying AWS storage or other resources may still incur separate AWS fees, but the image meters running time only.
Do I have to commit upfront, or can I change instance types later?
There is no upfront commitment. You pay only for the hours you run. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance type. If your workload changes, you can move to a different instance type and pay that type's hourly rate. Charges follow whichever instance you run.
