NGINX Plus Premium - Amazon Linux 2 (LTS) ARM Graviton
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for this software running on ARM-based Graviton EC2 instances with Amazon Linux 2. Pricing is not tiered by feature. Instead, each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your hourly rate follows the instance size and family you choose. Options span several families, including general-purpose (m6g, m6gd, a1, t4g), compute-optimized (c6g, c6gd, c6gn), memory-optimized (r6g, r6gd, x2gd), and network-focused variants. Sizes range from nano and medium up through large multi-core and bare-metal instances. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates. You add the underlying EC2 infrastructure cost separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what is not included in the software rate?
Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the matching type, billed per hour. The rate covers the NGINX Plus Premium software license only. You pay the underlying EC2 compute, storage, and data transfer costs separately through AWS. Larger instance types carry higher hourly software rates.
Am I charged the software rate when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still pay AWS for attached storage while the instance is stopped, but the license bills only for active running time.
How do I pick which dimension to buy across all the instance types listed?
You choose the dimension that matches the exact EC2 instance type you run. The software supports ARM-based Graviton instances on Amazon Linux 2. Your dimension follows the instance family and size, spanning general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, and bare-metal options. Match the dimension to your compute needs.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
When a new AMI is deployed for the first time, the latest version of NGINX Plus will be installed, auto-configured and started. NGINX Plus status can then be checked by running: service nginx status, and the NGINX Plus default index page will be accessible on public EC2 instance address. Please use SSH to access your instance for management purposes with the following usernames, for Ubuntu: "ubuntu", CentOS: "centos", Amazon Linux/RHEL: "ec2-user", Debian: "admin". NGINX Plus configuration can be found in /etc/nginx and the documentation is available at https://docs.nginx.com/nginx/.
