If you are an AWS Free Tier customer with a free plan, you are eligible to subscribe to this offer. You can use free credits to cover the cost of eligible AWS infrastructure. See AWS Free Tier for more details. If you created an AWS account before July 15th, 2025, and qualify for the Legacy AWS Free Tier, Amazon EC2 charges for Micro instances are free for up to 750 hours per month. See Legacy AWS Free Tier for more details.
You pay by the hour based on the AWS EC2 instance size you run the optimization software on. The 13 dimensions map to specific instance types, from small burstable options like t1.micro, t2.nano, t2.micro, and t2.small, to compute- and memory-focused sizes such as c7a.medium, m7a.medium, and r7a.medium. Larger memory-optimized instances scale up through r7i.large, r7i.xlarge, r7i.2xlarge, r7i.4xlarge, r7i.8xlarge, and r7i.12xlarge. Billing runs per instance-hour, so cost tracks how long each instance runs. You pick the instance that fits your workload size and memory needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one billed unit represent for each of these hourly dimensions?
One unit is one running AWS EC2 instance of the named type, billed per hour. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size. You are charged for each hour that instance runs the optimization software. Running two instances of the same type doubles the hourly count.
Am I charged when the EC2 instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Underlying AWS storage fees may still apply while the instance is stopped, but the optimization software bills only the time the instance is running.
How do I choose between the smaller instances and the larger memory-optimized ones?
Problem size is limited only by available memory, and the optimizer can use multiple CPU cores. Pick a small burstable instance for light or occasional problems. Choose a memory-optimized r7i size for large models needing more RAM, or a compute-focused size for CPU-heavy solving.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
