Each unit is one running EC2 instance of the type named on that pricing line. You pay the listed hourly rate for the hardened software while that instance runs. The rate reflects the instance size and family you select, not the number of users or connections.
The hourly software charge accrues only while an instance runs. Stopped or paused instances do not add software charges. You may still pay underlying AWS fees, such as storage for attached volumes, but the image itself meters running time only.
Each running instance bills independently at its own hourly rate. Charges from multiple instances add together on the same invoice. Running two different instance types means two separate hourly rates, each metered by that instance's running hours.

Usage instructions
Login with the SSH client to the instance and the default login user is 'ec2-user' with the SSH key specified at the time of launch. If you need to switch to root user you can type 'sudo -i' to switch root. Using the security best approach, it is advisable to disable SSH access for the user root and access SSH using accounts other than root and use the sudo command when root privileges are required.
