Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for Rocky Linux 9 support, priced per EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, so your cost follows the instance you choose. General-purpose (m-series), compute-optimized (c-series), memory-optimized (r-series and x-series), burstable (t-series), GPU and accelerated (p, g, inf, vt), high-memory (u-series), and HPC families are all covered. Larger instance sizes carry higher hourly rates. You add support only to the instances you deploy, and billing scales with your running hours across those instances.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each rate is a per-hour software support charge tied to one running EC2 instance of that exact type and size. You pay the rate matching the instance you deploy, billed for each hour it runs. This charge sits on top of the underlying AWS compute cost.
The hourly support charge meters running time only. When an instance is stopped or powered off, the software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage fees for the volume may still apply, but those are separate from the Rocky Linux support charge shown here.
Each running instance meters independently at its own hourly rate. Your total is the sum across every instance you run, multiplied by its running hours. Larger sizes carry higher rates, so mixing sizes means each line accrues at its own price on the same invoice.
