Launches and configures and environment containing EC2, RDS, SQS, WAF, and SES services. Please see architecture diagram for more information.
Please Note: This product connects to the AWS Storage Gateway API upon deployment. The Storage Gateway is provisioned, activated and configured by the CloudFormation script.
This product can optionally be configured with a monitoring email address. Currently monitoring alerts are limited to RDS disk space only.
IPV recommend that customers deploy IPV Curator into a specifically created AWS account to allow the application full access to S3, Transcribe, Rekognition, SQS, and Translate services.
The following IAM roles and users are created as part of the deployment; IAMRoleEC2SSM – Contains policy to allow remote access to EC2 instances via SSM. Also contains policy to allow EC2 with access to Storage Gateway API. IAMRoleStorageGateway – Provides Storage Gateway access to S3. IAMIPVAdminAccount – IAM account allowing for remote access to EC2 via SSM only. IAMIPVServiceAccount – IAM account used by back-end services of the product to access AWS services. IAMIPVCCAccount – IAM account used by the IPV Curator Connect client side application.
The following IAM Access Keys are being created; IAMIPVAdminAccountAccessKey – Used by Administrators and IPV professional services to access EC2 instances via SSM, providing maintenance and support. IAMIPVServiceAccountAccessKey – Used in Device Director profiles to access S3, Transcribe, Rekognition, and Translate. Also used in Process Engine workflow configuration to access S3 and SQS. IAMIPVCCAccountAccessKey – Used by the IPV Curator Connect application for limited access to S3.
CloudFormation Template (CFT)
AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."
