    Overview

    Open image

This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for cloudimg support services.

ClassicPress is the community-led, business-focused fork of WordPress. It keeps the familiar, stable content management experience that millions of sites rely on and stays fully compatible with the WordPress plugin and theme ecosystem, so you get a lean, predictable CMS without giving up the tools you already know. This image delivers ClassicPress fully installed, configured, and security hardened, so you have a working content platform running within minutes of launch instead of spending hours assembling a web server, database, and PHP runtime yourself.

With a standard ClassicPress deployment you must install Apache, MySQL, PHP and its extensions, download and place the application, create a database and user, run the installer, and then harden the credentials. This image completes all of that for you before first boot. Compared with a plain community image, this listing includes 24/7 expert support from cloudimg covering deployment guidance, plugin and theme setup, upgrades, performance tuning, and database administration.

Application stack: ClassicPress 2.7 on Apache 2.4, PHP 8.3 with the extensions ClassicPress needs, MySQL 8.0, and WP-CLI for command line administration. The install is completed headlessly, so the public install wizard is never exposed. The database lives on one dedicated, independently resizable data disk and the application code on a second, so you can scale storage without replacing the instance.

On the first boot of your instance, a one shot service generates a fresh MySQL password, a fresh application database password, and a fresh ClassicPress administrator password unique to that instance and writes them to a root only file, so no shared or default passwords ship in the image. Browse to the instance address and sign in to manage pages, posts, menus, media, users, plugins, and themes. ClassicPress serves on whatever hostname or IP address you reach it on, so it works on your instance public address or a custom domain with no reconfiguration.

    Highlights

    • ClassicPress 2.7 fully installed as a LAMP application on Apache, PHP 8.3 and MySQL with the site and dashboard published on port 80. The installer is completed headlessly so you skip the manual LAMP build and install wizard, with full access to the WordPress plugin and theme ecosystem.
    • Production-grade layout: the database and the application code each live on their own dedicated, independently resizable EBS data disk rather than the OS volume, so you can scale storage and simplify backups without replacing the instance.
    • Hardened first boot generates unique MySQL, application database, and ClassicPress administrator passwords for every instance and stores them in a root only file, with no default login. Backed by 24/7 expert technical support from cloudimg covering deployment, plugins and themes, upgrades and MySQL administration.

    Amazon Machine Image (AMI)

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

Connect via SSH on port 22 as the default login user for your operating system variant (the user guide lists it per variant; on Ubuntu it is ubuntu). The ClassicPress site and the wp-admin dashboard are served on port 80: browse to http://<instance-public-ip>/ for the site, and http://<instance-public-ip>/wp-admin/ to sign in with user cloudimg and the generated password. Retrieve the credentials with: sudo cat /stage/scripts/classicpress-credentials.log. Only Apache on ports 80 and 443 is exposed publicly; MySQL listens on loopback only. The database lives on a dedicated data disk at /var/lib/mysql and the ClassicPress code on a second data disk at /var/www . First boot pins the site to your instance address via the request Host header, so it also works on a custom domain with no reconfiguration; the user guide explains how to add a domain, enable HTTPS, and administer the site.
