This product has charges associated with it for security hardening. Launch a pre-configured Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 EC2 instance that ships with Armorbytes hardened baseline.
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein charges are associated for hardening.
Armorbytes Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 image enforces Level 1 security controls that are compatible with the Center for Internet Security® (CIS) Benchmark. Armorbyte is not affiliated with or certified by CIS; the benchmark is referenced solely as an industry standard. Additional hardening disables unused daemons, enforces strong SSH policies, and schedules automated security updates.
The baseline maps to the NIST CSF, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and other frameworks, giving teams a proven starting point toward compliance without the usual DIY effort.
Key features:
. Implements Level 1 controls compatible with the CIS Benchmark (not a certified CIS image).
. Continuous patching via dnf-automatic.
. SSH hardened: key-only auth & modern ciphers.
. Kernel parameters tuned to reduce attack surface (sysctl).
. Cloud-init scripts to extend or roll back changes.
Why choose Armorbyte?
Armorbyte images are continuously rebuilt, vulnerability-scanned, and cryptographically signed. Every build is regression-tested so it just works the first time you launch.
Highlights
This hardened image map to many established standards and regulatory frameworks, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), the ISO 27000 series of standards, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and others.

You pay by the hour for a hardened RHEL 10 server, billed per running instance. Each dimension maps to a specific EC2 instance type, so your rate depends on the compute size you choose. Smaller general-purpose types like t2.nano and t3.micro sit at the low end. Larger memory-optimized (r5a), compute-optimized (c5a), storage (i3, d3), and GPU types (p3, g5) carry higher hourly rates that scale with their capacity. You select the instance that fits your workload, and charges accrue only while the instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the hourly rate cover beyond the RHEL 10 operating system?
You get a hardened RHEL 10 server image pre-configured for security benchmarks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, NIST, and STIG. The hourly software charge covers this hardened, audit-ready template. Underlying AWS compute and storage fees are billed separately by AWS based on the instance type you run.
Am I charged when an instance is stopped or paused?
The software charge meters running instance-hours only. Fully stopped instances do not accrue the hourly software fee. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage costs for attached volumes, but those are separate AWS charges, not the software rate. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
How is my bill affected if I run several instances of different sizes?
Each running instance bills at the hourly rate tied to its own instance type. Rates accrue independently and add together on one invoice. A larger memory, compute, storage, or GPU type carries a higher hourly rate than a small general-purpose type. Total cost equals the sum of each instance's running hours.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
