Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is a single SIM card that connects a mobile or IoT device to your backend. Each device you connect uses its own SIM unit. You order SIMs to your required location, then assign each one to a site through the management portal. Your unit count equals the number of devices you connect.
Edge SIM is an extension of the Layer 3 CloudRouter service. You configure and order a CloudRouter, choosing bandwidth and contract length, then add your Edge SIMs and other sites to it. The SIM units cover mobile connectivity to the device. Bandwidth-based cloud connectivity is managed separately through the same platform.
Cost scales with the number of Edge SIM units you order, since each connected device needs its own SIM. You can add sites and SIMs to your CloudRouter as your device count grows. To adjust your quote for a different unit count, contact the vendor for a private offer.
