Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, storage, or accelerator capacity you choose. Smaller instances cost less per hour; larger memory-optimized, compute-optimized, storage-optimized, or GPU and accelerator instances cost more. You are billed only for the hours you use, with no upfront commitment. Pick the instance that fits your data volume and processing needs, then adjust as your workload changes.

What does one hourly unit cover for each dimension?
Each dimension maps to one running AWS EC2 instance of a named type. You pay for one instance-hour of Alchemia software running on that instance size. Instance families differ in compute, memory, storage, and accelerator capacity, so the unit reflects the hardware profile you select for your workload.
Am I charged when my Alchemia instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. A stopped or terminated instance stops accruing Alchemia charges. Underlying AWS resources, such as attached storage, may still incur separate AWS fees. The software meter counts running instance-hours only, so paused workloads pause the software cost.
Does running Alchemia on a larger instance change what the software can do?
The software capabilities stay the same across instance types. Larger instances give more compute, memory, storage, or accelerator capacity for tasks like entity matching, merging, and graph queries. Choose based on your data volume and processing speed needs; the price per hour scales with the instance size you pick.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. Instructions to get into the UI
Start the Alchemia VM
Use a web browser to access the application at http://<EC2_Instance_Public_DNS> - click open address on the Public DNS EC2 instance summary page. Note that Alchemia will run at http, so without TLS. It's up to the customer to provide proper load balancing and TLS offloading.
Create your admin account by providing your name, email and password.
Enter a valid licence so the product can be used. The licence to install will be provided via email.
Login into the VM from either the EC2 console, or via SSH (username ec2-user).
** Preferably use aws ssm start-session --target <instanceid> or the AWS console with ec2-user.
All Alchemia service run in podman-compose. An alias is available alchemia-compose. To run commands on it, always use sudo. A few examples:
-> sudo alchemia-compose logs
-> sudo alchemia-compose logs alchemia-orchestrator --tail 100
-> usage: sudo alchemia-compose
Asses health
Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region.
Choose Instance and select your launched instance.
Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
Login into the VM and get detailed information via the alchemia-compose commands (see above)
