Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you choose to run this software. Each dimension maps to a specific AWS instance size, so pricing scales with the compute power you select. Smaller instances like t2.nano and t3.micro carry lower hourly rates, while larger instances such as the metal and multi-xlarge types cost more per hour. The software runs the same across all instances; your rate depends only on the hardware size. You launch the image with one click on AWS and are billed for the hours you use.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
One unit is one running EC2 instance of the type you select, billed per hour. The rate covers the software plus the underlying operating system image. You pay for each hour that instance runs, and the amount depends on the instance size you launch.
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. Stopped instances do not accrue this fee. Note that AWS may still bill separately for attached storage on a stopped instance, but the software rate meters running hours only.
Your hourly rate changes to match the new instance type you launch. The software is identical across all sizes, so switching only affects the compute you pay for. Larger instances carry higher hourly rates; you are billed at the rate of whichever type is running.
