Copia Automation provides the first git-based source control system for industrial automation and adds additional rendering for PLC Logic (IEC61131-3). Organizations are able to understand who changed what and why. Copia also provides advanced code review for industrial code.
The source control solution empowers engineers to visualize their PLC code from a variety of vendors and a variety of PLC programming languages. This unlocks traditional Git workflows such as logic comparison, branching, merging, code reviews, and code commenting for automation professionals. The source control solution works natively with PLC binary file types and provides a powerful visualization layer that helps them utilize the power of Git, which is not possible with standard Git providers. The source control tool enables teams to have visibility into code changes (who, what, when, why) in order to access the last working version to accelerate recovery during operational disruptions. Additionally, Copia drives quality by enabling teams to capture issues earlier in the development lifecycle and better leverage team expertise by utilizing git. Lastly, the toolset supports multiple IEC 61131-3 languages across a wide variety of PLC and industrial controls devices. Utilize merging and branching to allow engineers to easily move between projects and work simultaneously on the same code base. Without Copia, engineering teams are unable to recognize who, what, when, and why a change was made to a system. This lack of visibility and control of code leads to extended periods of downtime, slower debugging processes, inefficient allocation of engineering resources, and delayed project timelines. Copia provides immense value by remediating these issues resulting in reduced downtime, higher quality code, and more efficient workflows.
Highlights
Multi-vendor support. Copia provides support for ALL file types but specifically can render IEC61131-3 programming languages and works natively with PLC binary file types.
Code review. Copia enables organizations to implement a modern code review process due to the fact that Copia is a git provider.
Collaboration. Organizations can render PLC code in their browser and share the latest version. This enables organizations to collaborate seamlessly between teams and even regions.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a single pricing dimension based on the number of users. You pay per user, and the contract requires a minimum of 5 users. As your team grows, you add more user seats and your cost scales directly with that count. There are no separate tiers or usage add-ons to combine. The product is a Git-based source control platform for industrial automation code, hosted on AWS. All buyers get the same per-user structure, so pricing depends only on how many users you enroll.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one user for billing under the per-user pricing?
One user is one person granted access to the platform through their own account. Each engineer who tracks changes, collaborates, or reviews code needs a seat. You must enroll at least 5 users. Devices and repositories do not count as users; only individual people do.
Why is there a 5-user minimum, and what if my team is smaller?
The contract requires paying for at least 5 users, even if fewer people use the platform. If your team has three engineers, you still pay for five seats. Once your team grows beyond five, your cost scales up with each added user.
Does the per-user price cover both cloud hosting and the desktop app?
The per-user charge covers platform access. The service is hosted on AWS, and users download a desktop app to build repositories. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Contact the vendor to confirm what specific hosting or support elements fall inside the per-user structure.
