You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run the software on. Three instance options are available: t3a.large, t3.large, and t2.large. Each is billed per hour of use, so your cost scales with how long you run the migration engine. The three options differ only in the underlying compute type, letting you match the instance to your workload needs. There are no upfront commitments or fixed terms under this usage model. You pay only for the hours the software runs.

What compute specs do the three instance options provide for running the migration engine?
Each option maps to an AWS EC2 general-purpose instance of the "large" size, giving two virtual CPUs and about eight gigabytes of memory. The t3a.large uses AMD processors, while t3.large and t2.large use Intel-based compute. You pick the instance type when you launch the software.
Am I charged when the migration engine instance is stopped or the migration is complete?
Hourly software charges accrue only while the instance runs. Once you stop the instance, software metering stops. A stopped instance may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for its disk, but the software licence meters running time only. You pay for the hours the engine is actually on.
Does running more workloads or larger migrations increase my hourly rate?
No. Your hourly rate depends only on the instance type you choose, not on workload count or data size. The engine runs migrations in parallel with a flat cutover window regardless of workload size. Cost scales with how long the instance runs, not how many workloads you move.
