Overview
Automate AWS cloud deployment and management, and minimise human error.
In a dynamic cloud environment you can — and increasingly must — react quickly to change. That is a world with no place for manual work. AWS CloudFormation minimises the human error that occurs when the AWS cloud is operated by hand. It makes it easier to model and set up AWS resources, so your team spends its time on the applications running in AWS rather than on the infrastructure beneath them. ORBIT designs, builds and hands over that automation around your environment.
WHAT YOU GAIN
Accelerated infrastructure deployment. Environments that took days of manual configuration are provisioned in minutes from a template.
Minimised human error. The configuration is defined once, reviewed once, and applied identically every time it runs.
Infrastructure management with DevOps. Templates are source-controlled, peer-reviewed and released through pipelines, exactly like application code.
Integrated security. Controls are built into the template rather than applied afterwards, so a compliant environment is the default outcome and not a follow-up task.
Environmental consistency. Development, test and production are provisioned from the same definitions, which removes configuration drift between them.
AWS CloudFormation allows you to predictably and repeatably create and deploy AWS infrastructure, covering services including Amazon EC2, Amazon Elastic Block Store, Amazon SNS, Elastic Load Balancing and Auto Scaling.
THE ORBIT CLOUD BLUEPRINT FRAMEWORK
We do not start from an empty template. Our Cloud Blueprint Framework provides a structured set of building blocks that we adapt to your environment across three areas.
Environment blueprints secure the AWS account itself as a landing zone. They cover the foundational services: centralised login and roles, networks and integration with on-premises, identity, monitoring and logging, and budgets.
Security blueprints automate control of the environment, configuring AWS Config, Amazon Inspector, Amazon GuardDuty and AWS Security Hub so that misconfiguration is detected rather than discovered later.
Infrastructure blueprints come in two forms. Generic blueprints are reusable across all environments and applications — RDS or ECS deployments, for example. Application-specific blueprints address the individual needs of a given application, such as database parameters or secrets held in AWS Secrets Manager.
The framework shortens delivery and means the security and governance decisions have already been made and tested, rather than being reasoned out again on every project.
WHY ORBIT
A highly dedicated team of AWS architects and engineers focused on cloud modernisation and security projects, with extensive experience from large companies and cloud projects in the financial sector. Our specialisations are financial institutions, cloud architecture, security solutions, cloud compliance and cost optimisation. The AWS practice is led by Martin Gavanda, AWS Cloud Architect Lead at ORBIT.
Automating infrastructure for regulated customers means the templates are also the evidence: what was deployed, by whom, reviewed by whom, and when. That shapes how we structure and document what we build.
HOW WE ENGAGE
This is a professional services offering, so the scope is always tailored to your environment, applications and target operating model. We assess your current estate and automation maturity, agree the blueprint set and template structure with your team, build alongside your engineers, then validate and hand over so the templates are fully owned and maintainable in-house. Optional ongoing support and enablement can be included.
Scope, deliverables, timelines and commercials are captured in a Statement of Work agreed with you and transacted through AWS Marketplace as a private offer. Contact us to arrange a no-obligation scoping call.
Highlights
- We do not start from an empty template. ORBIT's Cloud Blueprint Framework provides tested building blocks we adapt to your environment: environment blueprints securing the AWS account as a landing zone — centralised login and roles, networks and on-premises integration, identity, monitoring, logging, budgets; security blueprints automating control through AWS Config, Amazon Inspector, Amazon GuardDuty and AWS Security Hub; and infrastructure blueprints, generic and application-specific.
- Infrastructure as code, delivered by a team that works in regulated environments. Templates are source-controlled, peer-reviewed and released through pipelines like application code, so development, test and production come from the same definitions and configuration drift disappears. Security is built into the template rather than applied afterwards. We build alongside your engineers and hand over, so the templates are fully owned and maintainable in-house.
