    2. Code Ingestion and Roadmap Engagement — 6 to 8 weeks. Fixed scope, priced against your environment following the workshop. This is the step that reads the code. It runs in four stages: environment configured, code and content ingested, applications analyzed, strategy and benefits established.

    How the code gets read

    Our method reads RPG, CL, DDS and the other languages in your footprint at scale and maps their dependencies, using AI-accelerated tooling that includes Code Navigator, our own code-reading instrument. Three lenses come together in one queryable model grounded in your own data: the business capabilities the code supports, the economics of changing it (NPV, IRR, breakeven), and the technical domains underneath. Your code is analyzed in a controlled environment and is never used to train AI models, and where you already run a vector database and an LLM, the analysis can even run inside your environment on your own tokens (if desired).

    Where the plan lands on AWS

    The roadmap targets AWS services by workload, not by default. The data platform is usually the first slice — Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, Amazon S3, AWS Glue and Amazon Redshift. Application workloads land on Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS or Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda and Amazon API Gateway. The foundation is an AWS landing zone with AWS Transit Gateway and AWS Direct Connect. Analytics and generative AI on Amazon Bedrock and Amazon SageMaker come after the platform can support them, not before.

Commercial tooling built for the platform was estimated at 2,000 to 8,000 hours; a manual line-by-line review, 18,000 to 36,000. The client ran its own AI queries against the same codebase to check the findings and turned up nothing that contradicted ours.
