You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you launch. Each dimension maps to one AWS instance type, so pricing scales with the compute resources you choose. Smaller shared-core types like the t2 and t3 families suit light workloads. General-purpose m-family and compute-optimized c-family types handle steady or heavier loads. Storage-optimized i7i and memory-focused r8i types fit larger data needs. Larger sizes (xlarge, 2xlarge) cost more per hour than smaller ones. The software runs the same across all types; you pick the instance to match your workload.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a preconfigured Redis appliance running on one AWS EC2 instance of the type you select. The hourly rate covers the software license for that single running instance. Each dimension maps to one instance type, so the compute, memory, and storage you receive depend on the EC2 size you launch.
The hourly software charge applies only while the instance runs. If you stop the instance, the software fee stops accruing. Note that AWS may still bill underlying storage, such as attached volumes, while the instance is stopped. The software license meters running time only.
There is no single scaling dimension. You raise capacity by launching a larger instance type, which carries a higher hourly rate, or by running additional instances that each bill separately. The software itself is the same across all types; you choose the instance size to match your workload.

Usage instructions
System initialization
After launch, browse to http://<Public_DNS>/ and complete the first-boot configuration, or connect by SSH using the key pair selected at launch.
Operating system access
Connect using SSH as the Linux user admin with the selected EC2 key pair. Run privileged commands with sudo; this provides full OS-level administration.
Application access
Open http://<Public_DNS>/ in a web browser. The application may redirect to HTTPS after configuration.
