It also excludes your application security, cloud architecture, identity, logging, and assessor validation, which remain your team's responsibility.
The software fee meters running time, so a fully stopped instance stops accruing the hourly charge. Underlying AWS storage fees for the volume may still apply while the instance is stopped. Charges resume once you restart the instance.
