Sumo Logic is a secure, cloud-native analytics platform that helps you make data-driven decisions and reduce the time it takes to investigate security and operational issues.
Sumo Logic leverages powerful machine learning driven analytics capabilities such as pattern identification, outlier detection and predictive trending to quickly alert and troubleshoot applications, infrastructure performance, and security issues. Sumo Logic provides out-of-the-box pre-built analytics and dashboards for AWS services, including Amazon EC2, S3, AWS CloudTrail, Amazon CloudFront, Elastic Load Balancing (ELB), Amazon VPC Flow Logs, AWS Config and AWS Lambda.
Sumo Logic Essentials Service (Monthly) provides support for three capacity plans. The service plans are managed through the Cloud Flex Credit program, providing real-time license performance visibility, based on the estimated credits per plan per month. Any overages are billed at the same contracted rate (no penalties).
With Sumo Logic, you can get started in minutes. All your data is protected in the platform, which has industry-best security certifications including PCI DSS 3.2 Service Provider Level 1 and HIPAA.

Pricing
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor, and additional usage. You pay upfront or in installments according to your contract terms with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. Usage-based pricing is in effect for overages or additional usage not covered in the contract. These charges are applied on top of the contract price. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before the contract end date, access to your entitlements will expire.

Powerful Data Ingestion and Queries, but a Steep Learning Curve

What do you like best about the product?
One of Sumo’s strongest suits is its ability to ingest and normalize data from almost any source—AWS, Azure, GCP, or on-prem—into a single “pane of glass.” The query language is incredibly robust, and I use it every day for debugging.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you aren’t familiar with their specific syntax, it can take some time to become proficient. I’d suggest improving the “out-of-the-box” query builders to make it easier to get started. Also, when running complex queries over large time ranges (for example, 7+ days), the UI can sometimes feel sluggish or even time out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sumo Logic acts as a Single Source of Truth. It unifies logs, metrics, and traces into one platform.

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most is its ability to aggregate logs in real time, along with how powerful its query language is. It saves me a lot of preprocessing time and makes it easier to get to the insights I need without extra setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest problem is that you’re constantly worried about what you consume. It’s a constant source of stress having to monitor your data traffic so you don’t lose control of your budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sumo Logic performs wonderfully. It’s a super agile tool that lets me draw conclusions quickly, without the platform slowing down when I need it most.

What do you like best about the product?
What excites me most, honestly, is the LogReduce feature. It’s helped me cut through the noise across thousands of events, which feels essential when I’m trying to make decisions grounded in real data instead of assumptions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside is that the interface has a steep learning curve. It’s also important to be precise with the filters; otherwise, the budget can skyrocket.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest benefits is proactive visibility. Now I can pinpoint exactly what’s going wrong in the sales funnel thanks to the real-time dashboards, and this has dramatically accelerated our ability to respond to any operational issues.

What do you like best about the product?
What really won me over was its native cloud integration. It lets me handle massive volumes of data effortlessly, and best of all, it takes the headache out of having to manage or maintain the monitoring infrastructure myself.
What do you dislike about the product?
What really worries me is their pay-as-you-go billing model. If you’re not careful, the cost can skyrocket without any warning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It feels like a robust and completely reliable platform. The ease of exchanging reports and relevant data with other areas of the company greatly streamlines our work, and its focus on security gives us absolute peace of mind.
