This contract pricing includes five separate usage dimensions, each billed by requests. You pay for authoritative DNS queries, which answer lookups for your websites and online assets. You pay for resource records, the individual DNS entries you configure. You pay for domains under management, counting each domain you host. You pay for URL forwarding, which redirects HTTP traffic between targets. You pay for SiteBacker, which monitors primary and standby servers. These dimensions work independently, so your total scales with the volume you use in each category.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
An authoritative query is each lookup your DNS answers for a website or online asset. A resource record is each individual DNS entry you configure, such as an address or mail record. Queries scale with visitor traffic, while records scale with how many entries you define per domain.
All five dimensions bill independently by requests and appear on the same invoice. Authoritative query volume tends to dominate for high-traffic sites, since each visitor lookup counts. Domains, resource records, URL forwarding, and SiteBacker add charges based on how many you configure and monitor, not on visitor traffic.
URL forwarding is billed by requests, so charges follow the volume of HTTP redirects handled. SiteBacker is also billed by requests as it monitors your primary and standby servers. Each dimension meters its own activity, so low usage in one category keeps that category's charges low.
