This is a ready to use minimal Rocky Linux 8.10 image, mainly used as a common base system on top of which other appliances could be built and tested. It contains just enough packages to run within AWS, bring up an SSH Server and allow users to login. Cloud-init is included as well.
Login using 'rocky' user and ssh public key authentication . In this Rocky Linux 8 AMI, root login is disabled.

The software charge meters running time. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software rate. Storage tied to a stopped instance may still incur AWS fees billed separately by AWS. You are billed the Cloudfu rate only for hours each instance actually runs.
You pay the hourly rate for whichever instance type runs at that time. Switching to a larger type applies that type's higher hourly rate going forward, only for hours it runs. There is no upfront commitment or fixed term, so you can change sizes freely as needs shift.
