metaphactory on top of Amazon Neptune supports customers in Pharma & Life Sciences in their digital transformation journey by allowing them to quickly build a cross-data source and cross-departmental data fabric for business users. By tapping the full potential of existing internal and external data sources and making knowledge available and accessible company-wide, you can drive research and innovation and the delivery of new products, boost productivity and support mission-critical business decisions. metaphactory commoditizes Knowledge Graphs, making the technology and its benefits accessible not only to knowledge graph experts but also to business users and domain experts. It supports the process of making data FAIR and enables a cross-departmental Knowledge Graph creation process where all relevant stakeholders can be equally involved in the process of modeling a domain ontology and mapping and describing data sources. Through its low-code approach built on a model-driven template mechanism and a rich set of ready-made Web components, metaphactory allows customers to quickly build an intuitive user experience on top of their Knowledge Graph to support search, discovery, visualization, collaboration and editing of data.
Highlights
Fast-track drug discovery & Speed up drug safety review processes: Company-wide access to research data and knowledge as well as a data-driven application building platform accelerate time-to-market for new drugs and therapies. Existing reasearch findings can be leveraged as supporting metadata in review processes mandated by regulatory agencies, thus speeding up the approval processes.
Reuse existing data and knowledge & Generate continuous knowledge: Reusability of data and knowledge and the automation of data collection and integration help eliminate error-prone manual processes and allows users to focus on value-adding tasks. Data is transformed into company-wide available knowledge and can drive forecasts, prediction, and support research initiatives and business decisions.
Streamline processes from R&D to clinical trials to manufacturing: Research and lab data become available to manufacturing plants, helping streamline knowledge transfer and the planning of clinical trials, manufacturing and distribution processes.

metaphactory with Amazon Neptune for Pharma & Life Sciences
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the EC2 instance type you run metaphactory on. The 14 options are compute sizes, not feature tiers, so every choice delivers the same software. Pricing scales with the capacity of the instance you pick. The t2 and t3 families cover smaller, burstable workloads across medium, large, xlarge, and 2xlarge sizes. The m5 family covers steadier needs and scales up through xlarge, 2xlarge, 4xlarge, 8xlarge, and 12xlarge. You can start on a smaller instance and move to a bigger one as your capacity needs grow. AWS infrastructure charges apply separately.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What compute resource does one hourly charge cover, and what runs on it?
Each hourly charge covers one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The metaphactory software runs on that instance. You connect it to a separate graph database, such as Amazon Neptune, which you deploy and run on its own AWS resources.
Am I charged when my metaphactory EC2 instance is stopped?
The software charge meters running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software charges. Stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for the attached volume. AWS infrastructure charges apply on top of the software fee whenever the instance runs.
Does my hourly fee include the graph database, or is that billed separately?
The hourly fee covers only the metaphactory software on your EC2 instance. The graph database, such as Amazon Neptune, runs on separate AWS resources you deploy and pay for yourself. You can pair metaphactory with any compatible graph database of your choice.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
To login use the user "admin" and ID of the EC2-instance as passwort, e.g. "i-12345...".
To connect to the operating system, use SSH, the username "ec2-user" and the key you provided during setup.
