Without the AWS Transform account, agents cannot function independently even if you subscribe via AWS marketplace. You pay per dashboard, based on the step you run. The Power BI Analyzer charges for each dashboard you scan. This step inventories your Power BI assets and checks how well they fit Amazon QuickSight before you convert. The Power BI Converter charges for each dashboard you convert into a QuickSight equivalent. The two dimensions work in sequence: analyze first, then convert the dashboards you choose. Both bill by usage, so your cost grows with the number of dashboards processed. You can analyze many dashboards, then convert only a selected subset.

Known Limitations (Summary)
1: Power BI environments behind MFA providers like Okta have limited or no support.
2: Cross-account migration is not supported; AWS Transform and Amazon Quick Sight must be in the same AWS account.
3: For non-US regions, AWS Transform agents run in (us east 1), while Quick Sight assets can be created in another region within the same account.
4: Some Power BI features are not converted, including users and groups, deployment pipelines, data gateways, schedules, alerts and notifications, subscriptions, paginated reports, dataflows, parameters, textboxes, and table transformations.
