This product has charges associated with it for the build, maintenance and support of the Amazon Machine Image (AMI). CouchDB is an open source NoSQL database, initiated by Damien Katz in 2005 and maintained by the Apache Software Foundation. It uses JSON documents to store data and is suitable for distributed applications, offline applications, and content management systems. CouchDB's advantages include powerful data synchronization capabilities, easy scalability, support for MapReduce queries, and a simple RESTful API, making it particularly suitable for modern application scenarios that require high availability and offline access.

    Overview

This is a repackaged software wherein additional charges apply for Round-the-Clock support with a guaranteed 24-Hour response time. CouchDB's key strengths include its flexible document-oriented storage and powerful synchronization capabilities. The use of JSON format to store data enables it to handle complex nested data structures without schema requirements, making it easy to dynamically adjust the data model. In addition, CouchDB provides a built-in automatic data synchronization function that supports continued operation offline. Data will be automatically synchronized once the network connection is restored, making it suitable for applications that require offline work.

Another significant advantage is CouchDB's easy scalability and efficient query processing capabilities. Its distributed architecture supports horizontal expansion and can distribute data to multiple nodes to improve load balancing and fault tolerance. CouchDB uses MapReduce functions to process and query data, enabling efficient complex data analysis and report generation, providing optimized data retrieval speed and custom query capabilities.

Finally, CouchDB provides a simple RESTful API that makes integration with other applications and services simple. Data operations are performed through standard HTTP requests to facilitate interaction with front-end applications or other systems. In addition, CouchDB's eventual consistency ensures data integrity, and the built-in data backup and recovery mechanism further enhances data durability and security.

    Highlights

    • Powerful data synchronization function: CouchDB supports automatic two-way data synchronization and offline operation, allowing users to continue working when the network is disconnected, and automatically synchronize data after the connection is restored. It is suitable for applications that require high availability and offline support.
    • Flexible document-oriented storage: Use JSON format to store data, no predefined schema is required, support complex data structures and flexible data models, and facilitate rapid iteration and adjustment.
    • Simple RESTful API: Provides HTTP-based RESTful API, making integration with other applications and services very simple, and facilitating the interaction between the front end and other systems.
