Overview
Vnstat on Ubuntu 24.04 with maintenance support by kCloudHubs. This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for support. vnStat is a console-based network traffic monitoring tool that tracks and logs network bandwidth usage for selected interfaces. Unlike packet sniffers, vnStat gathers traffic statistics using the kernel's network interface counters, meaning it does require root privileges for monitoring and imposes minimal system overhead.
Highlights
- Track bandwidth per network interface
- Reads from kernel stats, no packet sniffing
- Runs in the background for continuous logging
