Stable Diffusion is a text-to-image and image-to-image generation model based on Latent Diffusion Models, which can generate high-quality, high-resolution, and highly realistic images based on any text or image input.

The core of this solution is an AMI based on Deep Learning AMI GPU PyTorch 1.13.1 (Ubuntu 20.04), which is installed with Stable Diffusion WebUI and integrated with Stable Diffusion 1.5 and ControlNet models.
In this AMI, we also deploy an Nginx application to forward requests from port 80 to port 7860 of Stable Diffusion WebUI. Both Nginx and SD-WebUI are configured to start automatically at boot. When you first start an EC2 instance from the AMI, you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes for Stable Diffusion to load and compile models.
With Stable Diffusion WebUI, you can easily perform text-to-image and image-to-image operations on the web page. By installing WebUI plugins, you can also achieve a higher degree of customization, such as Fine-Tune the model through Dreambooth, import third-party VAE/Lora models, etc.
For the convenience of Chinese speakers, we have installed a Chinese plugin for WebUI by default, which can be disabled on the WebUI.
We have installed the ControlNet model for you by default, which can enhance your control over text-to-image and image-to-image generation through edge detection, depth detection, human pose recognition, etc., making the generated images more in line with your expectations.
We strongly recommend that customers run this solution on EC2 instances with GPUs, and we recommend that your EC2 instance type be no less than g4dn.2xlarge or g5.2xlarge. This AMI does not support ARM-based CPUs.

Each dimension is an AWS EC2 GPU instance type running the solution. You pay per hour the chosen instance runs. Larger sizes like 12xlarge, 24xlarge, and 48xlarge pack more GPU capacity. The metal option gives bare-metal access. Pick a size to match your inference, training, or fine-tuning workload.
Am I charged when a GPU instance is stopped or idle?
The software itself is the Free Version, so no license charge accrues. Hourly billing tracks the time your chosen instance runs. When you stop an instance, running-time charges cease. AWS EC2, EBS storage, and network fees still apply separately and may continue on stopped instances.
What extra AWS costs apply on top of this free software?
The listing carries no software license fee. You pay AWS for the underlying resources. This includes EC2 GPU instance hours, EBS disk storage, and network traffic. These charges appear separately from the solution and depend on the instance size and usage you select.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
The following is a step-by-step guide on how to start an EC2 instance to run the Stable Diffusion WebUI service after subscribing to the AMI:
Navigate to the MarketPlace Subscription page, find the "Stable Diffusion WebUI with ControlNet - eCloudrover" subscription and click the "Launch new instance" button below.
On the Launch new instance page, make sure the Region is the one you need, and click "Continue to launch through EC2".
In the Launch an instance interface, pay attention to the following parameters:
3.1. Instance type: g4dn.xlarge is the minimum requirement, and we recommend using g4dn.2xlarge or g5.2xlarge or higher;
3.2. Key pair: If you need to use an SSH client to connect to the server for operation and maintenance, you must specify a Key pair;
3.3. Auto-assign public IP: Please edit "Networking settings" and select "Auto-assign public IP" as "Enable";
3.4. Firewall (security groups): Please keep port 80 open; if you need to use an SSH client to connect to the server for operation and maintenance, you also need to keep port 22 open;
3.5. Configure storage: We recommend that you choose a gp3 Root volume of 100 GB or more.
After configuring, click "Launch instance". When the "Instance state" of the EC2 instance displays "Running", you can access the Public IP of the EC2 instance. (Please note to use HTTP access, HTTPs will display "ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED")
You will be prompted to enter a username and password to log in to the WebUI. The username is "webui" and the password is the Instance ID of the EC2 server.
If you see "AIGC WebUI service starting... It takes some time to start up for the first time" when you access the Public IP, please wait patiently for 10-15 minutes. The first startup of the server requires waiting for the Stable Diffusion environment configuration and model loading.
