All openEuler OS AMI's include cloud-init support. The default cloud user is set up to be 'openeuler'. After the machine is running, you will be able to log in as this user and run privileged commands with sudo.
All openEuler OS images are built with SELinux set to enforcing mode.

This openEuler operating system image is free, so the software itself carries no charge. You pay only the hourly rate for the AWS EC2 instance you run it on. Each dimension maps to one arm64-based EC2 instance type, billed per hour. The list spans general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and bare-metal families, in sizes from nano and medium up to 48xlarge and metal. Larger or more specialized instances cost more per hour. Choose the instance size that fits your workload; pricing scales with the compute, memory, and storage capacity of that instance.

What does one hourly unit cover, and am I charged when the instance is stopped?
Each unit is one running arm64 EC2 instance of the chosen type, billed per hour it runs. The openEuler software itself is free, so the charge reflects the AWS instance rate. A fully stopped instance stops software charges, though AWS may still bill for attached storage.
What do I get for a bare-metal dimension like c8g.metal-24xl versus a smaller size like t4g.small?
Bare-metal dimensions give you a dedicated physical server with no hypervisor layer, sized for large workloads. Smaller sizes such as t4g.small provide a compact virtual instance for light tasks. Both run the same free openEuler image; the hourly rate reflects the compute, memory, and storage of the size you pick.
If my workload grows, do I move to a larger instance automatically, or manually?
You choose and launch each instance size manually. Nothing upgrades on its own. To scale up, stop the current instance and start a larger dimension, or run added instances. The free openEuler image runs on any listed arm64 type, so you switch sizes without a software fee.
