This listing carries no software license fee. You pay per hour only for the Arm-based EC2 instance type you run within your EKS 1.32 cluster. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, billed hourly. Pricing scales with the compute, memory, and storage capacity of the instance you pick. Smaller instances like t4g.nano cost less per hour; larger ones like the metal and 48xlarge sizes cost more. You can mix instance types across your worker nodes and pay for each based on its running hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does each hourly dimension actually cover — is there a software fee on top of the AWS instance cost?
Each dimension maps to one Arm-based EC2 instance size running in your EKS 1.32 cluster. The Ubuntu 24.04 LTS software carries no license fee. You pay only the underlying AWS charge for the instance hours you run. No separate software charge appears on your bill.
Am I charged when a worker node is stopped or scaled down?
Hourly charges track running instance time. When you stop or remove a worker node, its hourly meter stops. Stopped instances may still incur AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the Ubuntu software itself meters running hours only and adds no license cost.
If I run several different instance types across my cluster, how does my bill combine them?
Each instance type bills independently at its own hourly rate. Your total is the sum of running hours across every worker node, priced by its size. Larger sizes like the metal and 48xlarge instances drive more cost per hour than smaller ones like t4g.nano.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
