Overview
V-Maestro automatically moves applications and workloads running on Windows Server 2003, 2008, or 2012 to modern 2016 and 2019 instances in the Cloud. V-Maestro provides a path forward for applications that are dependent on OSs that have reached EOS.
Automatically discover all your IT assets across a network with monitoring. Capture app dependencies, components, and state in patented VirtaMove container-based technology. VirtaMove technology isolates the application from the underlying operating system, enabling the up-leveling of applications to a newer, supported version of Windows Server on AWS. There is no permanent reliance on the container: moved apps will run on the new OS as if natively installed, with state preserved.
VirtaMove will work with you or your AWS partner to discover and package your applications so that they can be migrated to AWS without the need to upgrade, refactor, or recode the application.
Move up in one step - no need for a stepwise OS upgrade. Source code and install scripts not required.

Handling migration of my applications

What do you like best about the product?
For me, V-Migrate’s most attractive feature was its ability to handle the migration of my legacy applications. The idea of being able to do this automatically, move them off of those old and less secure Winland Server versions to something better, sounded great.
What do you dislike about the product?
This became evident when I attempted to move a larger batch; with V-Migrate it slowed down severely. It became a lagging process and riddled with various technical glitches. Applications appeared to be overlooked, and I had to intervene to be sure they made the transition properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The plan was that by using V-Migrate, it would have become easy and efficient to migrate or modernize the server environment. It proposed to save my money and time during the process of migrating applications.
