Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour for each running instance, with no upfront commitment. Pricing is billed per hour based on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. Every listed option maps to a specific ARM-based instance size, from small burstable types like t4g.nano up to large metal and 48xlarge configurations. Compute-optimized, memory-optimized, general-purpose, storage-dense, and GPU instance families are all covered. Larger instances with more vCPUs, memory, or storage carry a proportionally higher hourly rate. You choose the instance that fits your workload and scale up or down as needs change.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each unit is one hour that a single instance runs. You are billed for the ARM-based EC2 instance you launch, counted per instance-hour. Two instances running for one hour each bill as two instance-hours. The rate matches the specific instance type you select.
Hourly software charges apply only while an instance runs. A stopped or paused instance stops accruing software charges. Note that underlying AWS storage or other resources may still incur separate AWS fees, but the software meters running time only.
The image is configured to STIG security recommendations to reduce system vulnerabilities. It aims to protect against denial of service, unauthorized data access, and other threats. This hardened configuration is included with every instance type you run, regardless of which size you choose.

Connecting to the Virtual Machine
To connect to your instance, use SSH over port 22. The default username for this image is ec2-user.

Security Configuration
This image is pre-hardened with over 200 security controls applied by default. No additional setup or configuration is required after launch.

Accessing Docker
Docker is pre-installed on this instance.
To confirm Docker is installed, open a terminal and run the following command: docker --version
This will display the installed Docker Engine version.
To run a sample container, use this command: docker run hello-world
This command will pull a test image from Docker Hub and launch a container to verify that Docker is working correctly. You should see a message confirming that Docker is operational.
