You pay by the hour for this hardened Rocky Linux 9 image, billed only while an instance runs. Each pricing line matches one AWS EC2 instance type, so your rate follows the instance you pick. Smaller shared types like t2.micro or t3.nano carry lower hourly rates. Larger compute, memory, storage, GPU, and bare-metal types such as m8i.96xlarge or p5.48xlarge carry higher rates. Price scales with the size and capability of the instance, not with features of the software. Software hardening, monthly updates, and support are included with every instance type.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get a Rocky Linux 9 image that Citadel has hardened using NIST and DevSec frameworks, running on the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The rate covers the software license, monthly updates, and support. The underlying instance's compute, memory, and storage come from your AWS account separately.
The software charge meters only running instance-hours. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. You may still owe AWS for attached storage while an instance is stopped, but that is billed by AWS, not by this software license.
Yes. Each pricing line maps to one specific EC2 instance type, and the hourly rate follows that type. Moving to a larger compute, memory, storage, GPU, or bare-metal type switches you to that type's rate. The change takes effect when you launch the new instance.
