Multi-user Windows RDP server with GigaOps Session Monitor built in. Track active sessions in real time, enforce idle timeouts, audit login attempts, and monitor per-user bandwidth. Manage concurrent remote desktop users without third-party session broker software.
GigaOps Session Monitor provides a multi-user Windows RDP environment with built-in session governance and real-time monitoring by Gigabits. This product solves the common pain point of managing concurrent remote desktop users without expensive third-party session broker software or complex licensing.
Key Features:
Session Monitor Dashboard: A local web panel shows all active sessions in real time including who is connected, session duration, resource consumption per user, and idle status.
Multi-User Session Control: Support multiple concurrent RDP sessions with per-user isolation. Configure maximum sessions per user, restrict login hours, and enforce group-based access policies.
Idle Timeout Enforcement: Automatically disconnect or lock sessions after configurable idle periods. Reclaim server resources from forgotten sessions.
Login Auditing: Every connection attempt is logged with timestamp, source IP, username, and session duration. Export logs as CSV for compliance reporting.
Bandwidth Optimizer: Monitors per-session network usage and can throttle bandwidth-heavy sessions to maintain quality for all connected users.
Security Hardening: NLA enforced, RDP port randomized, brute-force detection with auto-ban, and Windows Firewall pre-configured.
Ideal For: Small teams needing shared remote workstations, businesses providing remote access to contractors, training environments, or any workload requiring managed multi-user Windows desktop access.

You pay by the hour for this software, billed against the EC2 instance type you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance size, so pricing scales with the compute, memory, or specialized hardware you select. Smaller general-purpose instances like t2 and t3 sit at one end, while large memory-optimized, compute-optimized, storage, and GPU or accelerator families sit at the other. You choose the instance that fits your workload. There is no upfront commitment; charges accrue only for the hours each instance runs. The hardened image itself supports remote desktop access with multi-user connections.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit map to for this software?
Each hourly unit maps to one running EC2 instance of the type you select. The software charge meters per hour that instance runs. Running two instances of the same type bills two hourly charges. The instance type you pick sets both the compute resources and the rate.
Am I charged for the software when an instance is stopped or paused?
Software charges accrue only for hours an instance actually runs. A stopped or paused instance stops the hourly software charge. Note that underlying AWS storage or other AWS resources tied to a stopped instance may still incur separate AWS fees billed by AWS.
How is the software charge affected if I move to a larger instance type?
Charges follow the instance type you run. Switching to a larger compute, memory, storage, or GPU instance changes the hourly rate to that type's rate. There is no automatic tier upgrade; you choose the instance, and billing tracks whichever type is running each hour.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
