Leveraging advanced optimization algorithms, a GenAI agent for dialogs, and cost calculator using latest cost of cloud resources and EDA licenses. DFO enables intelligent resource allocation by analyzing and predicting project demand, actual consumption, costs, and simulation wait times perceived by R&D engineers.
How it works:
DFO - Smart Optimization Strategy. The Design Flow Optimizer (DFO) enhances R&D design flows by focusing on four key areas:*
- Aligning R&D supply and demand: Matches R&D project simulations with the best-fit resources on-prem or in cloud to provide maximum performance.
- Optimal pricing model selection: Identify the best pricing model between on-premise, on-demand, spot and reserved for each R&D project, using simulation type, runtime and priorities.
- Intelligent Scheduling: Selects the ideal time slots for simulations and schedules jobs for projects based on project priority, budgets and resource availability.
- Cloud Resource Right-Sizing: Allocates the best-fit cloud resources for the demanded vs. actual used compute capacity per EDA simulation type, preventing waste and overspend.

Architecture:
DFO's core functionality and data processing is delivered through CI/CD automation as a serverless platform based on AWS Glue, Athena and S3. DFO’s optional GenAI assistant is delivered through AWS Bedrock and CloudFront. This architecture removes dependencies on specific availability zones for consistent operation. Python code and packages are managed and deployed using AWS Lambda.
